Recently the 2017 Nikken Team Kaizen members were rewarded for qualifying as Active Wellness entrepreneurs with a luxury trip to Japan. Here is what Jon and Nicki Edgell, Platinum Consultants from the UK, wrote about their memorable experience.

“In addition to the regular compensation plan Nikken offers extra incentives to Consultants. One of these has just seen us take part in an all expenses paid Team Kaizen trip to Japan, the original home of Nikken.

Although Nikken Inc. now has its HQ in the US the company aims to visit Japan every few years in order to honor its formation and to give Consultants a chance to experience Japanese culture and the people’s philosophy of service. This was certainly the case where we were constantly humbled by the people’s helpfulness and politeness everywhere we went. At each hotel on the tour lines of staff would stand and bow. If we stopped for a moment and looked confusingly at a metro map a young student with perfect English would offer help. Tokyo is preparing for the Olympics in 2020 and the people’s friendliness and the efficiency of their transport systems will ensure a successful event.

This trip, as well as various other annual events, is also a chance to reconnect with old colleagues and meet new friends, to revive one’s purpose, to get inspired and set intentions for the year ahead. To be surrounded by so many positive and successful partners serves to propel you on to the next level of your Nikken journey. Big decisions are made at these big events.

The trip was primarily a holiday and a reward for good work but there are inevitably chances to talk business and share best practices. By forging lasting relationships with international colleagues chances for collaboration and sharing business arise.

The network marketing model is one of collaborative entrepreneurship. Although we all have our own teams, by sharing information about what works well the global Nikken family is able to “grow the overall size of the pie”. In practice this translates, for example, to a colleague in Canada passing an enquiry from a UK resident to us or a Mexican business leader appearing on one of our webinars to pass on knowledge and inspiration to our team.

Another takeaway from the trip was the number of different ways one can be successful at the Nikken business – for instance through online retail or through building a network, or a combination of both. The Nikken business leaders are drawn from all sorts of different characters – it is certainly not the case that you have to be an outgoing extrovert in the stereotypical salesman mold.

Setting Nikken Goals for 2018

Blog 22nd Jan postThe dictionary defines “resolution” as “a firm decision to do or not to do something”. As we settle into 2018 we often think of all the things we’d like to accomplish this year. Apparently 80% of New Year resolutions fail by February!1

To prevent this from happening, we have to change our mindset. Keep an open mind, get rid of limiting beliefs, set our goals for 2018, make the commitment, create a plan, and then act on it. If we lapse, we need to forgive ourselves and get back on track. To make 2018 your best business year yet, you need to know why you’re in business with Nikken and what you’re willing to commit to in terms of sponsoring, retailing and mentoring. What were you focused on in 2017? Was it effective? What will you focus on in 2018?

Here are some suggestions to help you make 2018 your best Nikken year yet:

  • Choose to believe in yourself. Trust that you can do it and trust that Nikken is behind you all the way.
  • Plan your day the night before. Make your to-do list and have it prioritised.
  • Set aside a time every day to look over and manage your business on your MyNikken. You need to know who your potential stars are and mentor them closely. You also need to encourage the forgetful ones to go onto Autoship so they will never run out of product. Remember that there is Retail Autoship as well as Consultant Autoship.
  • Incorporate the Everyday Weight Management Pack into your Active Wellness lifestyle. The Pack is not just about being at the right weight; it’s about good nutrition that works efficiently. We tend to complicate work and life with too many ifs, ands or buts. Instead, we need to think things through, make solid decisions and follow through. There will always be good days and bad days, but the key is to stick to the plan. Talking about it is not enough, as actions make businesses grow. By taking the right actions consistently, you’ll be congratulating yourself for a year of achievement when December comes around!

Retail and Sponsor with Social Media

Network marketing success can come from mastering a few activities and doing them over and over.

Successful network marketing requires the repetition of two basic behaviors:

  • Retail the products. When you retail products at Nikken, you get a percentage of the sales price, so you are earning commission.
  • Sponsor new Customers and Consultants. When you enroll team members who also retail the products, you earn commissions according to our compensation plan on what they purchase and retail. The more people in your group, the more you potentially can earn.

Once you’ve shared the products and the income opportunity with your friends and family, you may want to branch out so you can continue building your business. That’s why social media is so important. Here’s how it works:

  1. Use social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to share products and opportunity. Post your personal testimonials and those of others. Make sure you follow our policies when you do this and please contact your Nikken Customer Services Team if you have questions or are unsure about the rules. Make your posts short and sweet. Remember that a photo is worth a hundred words. Set your posts to “public” so everyone can see them, not just your friends. The whole point is to attract new people.
  2. Check daily for responses and follow up with those who reply or “like” your social media posts. Gather contact information such as email addresses and phone numbers, so you can connect privately.
  3. Enroll those who are interested in products as Registered Customers and enroll those who are also interested in the potential income opportunity as Consultants.

For those who have already made a purchase and/or enrolled with you, follow up and see how they’re doing. Remind new Nikken Customers to re-order or sign up for Autoship.
