Be the best you can be!

Be the best

Personal development is the process of understanding ourselves so that we can strive to reach our full potential and become the best we can be.

Personal development affects every aspect of our lives. When we grow and develop as individuals we feel a sense of achievement, satisfaction and fulfilment. Becoming our best selves, being aware of the opportunities and possibilities, being more motivated and positive in our outlook affects not only ourselves, but also the ones close to us. Being focused on our own personal development is not selfish. On the contrary, it opens us up to becoming more open-minded and observant of the needs of others. Working on ourselves to become a better person benefits those around us.

Here are a few tips on what you can do to improve your life:

1. Make small choices for the better. Make positive choices and decisions that will lead you to a more fulfilling life.

2. Do something for yourself. Do something that you love, just for yourself.

3. Do something for someone else. The sense of satisfaction you get from helping others is priceless.

4. Define your own success. What is most important to you? What do you want to change? What do you want to learn?

5. Make sure your work and personal life are balanced.

6. Spend your time on the things that matter the most to you.

7. Practice Self Care.

8. Set goals for what you want to achieve. Set goals for your life that motivate and inspire you. Set goals that are specific and attainable.

9. Make a Life Cycle Plan.

Personal development gives you the opportunity to get clarity over your own vision for your life. Learning new skills and improving yourself drives motivation and increases your confidence. When you are self-aware and know yourself your social relations will also improve.

At Nikken we believe in the potential of every individual and ever since our company was founded 44 years ago in Japan, we have put focus on personal development with our training called Humans Being More Silver Training (HBMST). We believe that everyone can become their best self and that we as a community have a responsibility to help others live more fulfilled lives. Our philosophy is based on living a life in balance in what we call the 5 pillars of Health. With focus on having balance in these five areas of your life; Mind, Body, Family, Society and Finances, our HBMST training has helped thousands of people achieving a better life for themselves.

If you are interested in attending one of our trainings, contact your Nikken Consultant or contact Nikken at UKsupport@nikken.co.uk.

Creating Good Habits for Health, Longevity and Happiness…

japanese blog banner

The successful pursuit of Active Wellness revolves around the creation of good lifestyle habits, which go hand-in-hand with self-development. Active Wellness encompasses mind, body and spirit and according to an article in Medical NewsJapanese people – Japanese women, especially – have a wonderful system resulting in good health, longevity and happiness. Many Nikken products are based on the Japanese approach to health and prosperity. Here’s how:

  • Japanese people drink a lot of green tea, commonly believed to be one of the healthiest beverages and renowned for its antioxidants, nutrients and many other benefits. Green tea leaves contain bioactive compounds and phytonutrients, such as flavonoids and catechins. A nutritional alternative is Nikken Organic Jade GreenZymes®.Made from the juice of freshly harvested, shoots of Organic barley grass.
  • Japanese people eat fermented foods, an ancient practice with plenty of health benefits. A popular food in Japan is natto, made by fermenting soybeans. Fermentation is a process that preserves food while creating beneficial enzymes, B vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids and probiotics. Kombucha, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, tempeh, pickles and miso soup are all examples of fermented consumables. Fermented foods add good bacteria to the gut, helping digestion. KENZEN Digestion Complex 4-20 contains 20 different types of enzymes and assists in normal digestion and nutrient absorption.
  • Walking is a meditative practice in Japan. Instead of walking specifically to get somewhere, a walking meditation involves thinking about each step, focusing on the movement of the feet and how the body shifts when going forward. Walking mindfully with the Kenko mStrides® from Nikken takes your meditative practice to another level!
  • Many Japanese practice martial arts, such as Aikido and Karate. Both emphasize a natural way of self-defense that aims to promote self-confidence and self-respect as well as the combined disciplines of the body and mind. Martial arts provide a total body workout that makes use of every muscle and helps to improve stamina, flexibility, endurance and strength.
  • Japanese begin soaking in hot spring baths as youngsters. Known as balneotherapy, bathing in hot springs is believed to boost circulation, reduce stress and promote restful sleep. The heat helps relax tense muscles and hydrate the skin. Japanese exhibit an intense respect for nature. Children are taught to live in harmony with nature and to respect it. Going into the wilderness on days off is a common way for city dwellers to decompress from hard work.
  • Japanese women attend group activities regularly throughout their lives and into old age. The byproduct of this fun habit is not only having many friends but also keeping the brain functioning. Since a lack of social activity is correlated to mental aging, Japanese have a great system for keeping their minds intact. Not surprisingly, women make up the majority of network marketers, comfortable in conducting and participating regularly in groups with mentors and new “students.”
  • The Japanese attitude towards work results in high productivity. Although work is just as stressful as anywhere else in the world, the prevalent attitude is that no matter how difficult the job is, it has a larger purpose and is worthy of the struggle. Each hardworking individual is contributing to the greater good and this belief produces an inclusive feeling of belonging. This is an evolved way of thinking, which comes with self-development started early in life. Nikken leaders who qualify for Team Kaizen embody this positive attitude. In a sit down work environment, the KenkoSeat® II is an instant way to benefit from Magnetic technology and provides support and comfort.

Being conscious of what makes you happy and feeling fulfilled is another aspect of self-development. Japanese are taught as children to be in touch with their feelings and to identify what is called “ikigai”- “iki” means life and “gai” means worth. It connotes what brings joy into each life – any variety of work, family, friends or hobbies.

Active Wellness and self-development are the ideal ways to achieve the 5 Pillars of Health.

New Year Message for 2019 from the CEO

Mr Fulle's NY Blog Banner

As I reflect on our 43rd year, there was much to be thankful for in the Nikken Family. Worldwide, last year thousands of people embraced the Nikken concept of Active Wellness. Living a Life in Balance by creating a Wellness Home defines our purpose or mission to humanity.

For the new year, Nikken will have much to offer to leverage our mission.

First, regarding personnel, I am very excited to announce new Nikken Corporate Executive and Sales Teams.

  • Luis Kasuga has accepted the position of President of Nikken Global. In this role, he will take the lead in developing and executing the Nikken sales and marketing strategy. I am confident he will have a significant impact on your business.
  • The new Managing Director for Latin America is Gustavo Gomez. Recently he celebrated his 15thanniversary with Nikken and is well known to everyone. Given his prior role as Sales Director for Latin America, this new position is a natural transition for Gustavo. His insights into network marketing have had a significant impact on aligning Company and Field Leaders’ goals.
  • Jeff Isom in his new role will be VP of Training. In this position, he will focus on providing global training for Nikken. Returning to his roots, Jeff will travel extensively to bring you Human Beings More Silver Training (HBMST), a unique approach to self-development and network marketing training.
  • Jennifer Figueroa will assume the responsibilities for Latin American sales. Jennifer possesses excellent people skills with a mind for business—a rare combination. In her prior role as General Manager for Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador, she was instrumental in helping to create the tremendous success our Consultants have been enjoying there.
  • North America once again has a National Sales Director: Ruben Yescas. He has more than 20 years of business experience, including 10 years in network marketing. His goal has always been to help consultants grow a profitable business.
  • Marisa Gonzalez will be returning to the Sales Dept. She has been with Nikken for 18 years, and during this time she has built a stellar reputation for providing service to the field.

In other matters, in April, Nikken will commemorate 30 years in the USA.  It has been and continues to be a most rewarding experience. There is no substitute for Humans Being More.

By the beginning of the 2nd quarter, North America will have a new shopping cart. It will be user friendly, sleek and hip!  This shopping cart is just one example of our renewed commitment to our e-commerce platform. Refinements and new functionality will be added to our web presence as needs are identified.

There will be an increased emphasis on digital marketing as a medium to increase awareness of the Nikken Brand and what it represents.

Exciting new products will be launched in 2019. Europe and Latin America will experience the phenomenal benefits of the Kenko Ground, which was previewed atthe Toronto Summit this past October. The testimonials we have read have truly been incredible.

Finally, and most importantly, I want to thank you for being part of the Nikken Family, and I want to wish all of you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

Kurt H. Fulle

The Path to Success…

Nikken is about more than innovative products – it also has a great Income Opportunity1. Income can be earned in a number of ways; selling to customers, getting new business partners on board who develop their own Nikken business, and using the Nikken Incentive programmes to maximise income potential.

We’d like to congratulate Chantal Martin, one of our Independent Nikken Consultants in France.  She has built her Nikken business over the past few months, achieving Silver rank in August and Gold in September AND won the High 5 Incentive. We asked Chantal what her favourite products are and how she built her business and achieved her rank advancements. This is her story:

“Hello, I am Chantal Martin, 68, a retired shopkeeper from Vichy, France. I became an Independent Nikken Consultant in January 2018, after a very positive experience while testing the Nikken Sleep System.

I was very pleased with how I felt after using the Sleep System and wanted to purchase one for myself, as well as try more Nikken products, so I purchased the complete Sleep System and PiMag Water Fountain. I also use the Jade GreenZymes®, KENZEN Super Ciaga®, KVB® Natural Food Mix and the TRUE elements® Marine Organic Skincare. I use these products every day – they are now my essentials!

I became very aware that I was actually responsible for my own health by choice – and not by chance. I attended workshops and discovered how I could share ways of living an active wellness lifestyle with others too.

I introduced Nikken to people who wanted an additional income, with minimal investment, and who wanted to be part of a Team. Our Team currently consists of: two Consultants – who reached Executive rank in two months and won the Power Start Incentive. Their small initial investment has now been returned to them in products. And a Consultant – who has reached Silver rank in just two months and already, has his own team of 3 people.

We are aiming to achieve the PARAGON prize by the end of December. We’ve achieved what we have so far with help and support from Marie and Jean Marie and their participation in our three business presentations.

I am now Gold rank. One of my beliefs is in helping others. Nothing we do is ever a waste of our time, we cannot help everyone, but we will be able to help someone. Nobody has ever become poor by giving. With hard work, perseverance and courage, we can get there. The only way to fail is to give up before reaching the goal. Be grateful for each difficulty you encounter – it could be the gift which will help you grow. The difference between a successful person and others is not lack of strength, nor lack of knowledge – but rather a lack of willpower.

Thank you and GO! GO!”

Sharing the method for success…

Paragons Retail, Sponsor and Duplicate

A “Paragon” is defined as a model of excellence or perfection. The most successful Nikken Consultants live up to being paragons. To help Nikken Consultants advance and increase earnings, the Paragon Award was developed to motivate and reward Consultants who sponsor new people and retail products, the two tried and true ways to advance in ranking and earn more income. Historically, the more effort Consultants exert, the faster they earn and the higher they progress in rank.

The Paragon Award is designed to help Nikken Consultants, at the Silver and lower ranks, advance to Gold. However, a Consultant at any level can achieve the Paragon Award by meeting the qualifications. To qualify, a Consultant needs to develop three or more new frontline Silver (or above) Consultants within a period of three consecutive months. In addition, awardees need to achieve a minimum of 18,000 Personal Group Point Volume. The prize is £600 in cash.

Platinum Consultant Leo LeMay, of the province of Quebec in Canada, achieved the Paragon Award earlier this year – and has plans to go for it yet again!

For anyone taking on this challenge, Leo gives some personal advice on how to succeed. He says, “I decided not just to try for the Paragon Award but to truly commit to attaining it. I believe in focusing on the decision to succeed and backing it up by taking consistent action every single day.

Taking action means contacting new prospects, doing the ABC presentations* and coaching people by phone when possible. I committed to making five to seven new contacts each week as well as doing at least one and sometimes two or three presentations each week. These presentations were either an ABC* or a personal one-on-one meeting. By consistently doing these things, I was able to increase volume to meet the qualifications. I also did a lot of coaching by phone.

To achieve the sponsorship requirements, I asked each of my first-level Consultants, who were not yet at the rank of Silver, whether they were ready to go for Silver. Réal Houle was the one who was committed, and I continued sponsoring to find two more. Whenever I sponsor new Consultants, I ask them if they are willing to commit to working towards Silver in three months or less. I also ask if they’ll commit to going for the Entrepreneurs Club at the same time. I’m happy to say that after all our hard work, my new frontline people are now independent and know how to retail and sponsor their own new Consultants.”

Congratulations to Leo LeMay for sharing Active Wellness and being a Nikken Paragon!

* In an A-B-C demonstration, Consultant “B” and an experienced Consultant “A” deliver a Nikken product presentation / demonstration to “C”, who is a prospect of “B”.

Make the Decision to Succeed…

MD-KF blog banner logo

Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning “continuous improvement through positive change”. Recipients of the Team Kaizen award have the opportunity to experience an extraordinary leadership position within Nikken.

2018 Team Kaizen members had to create at least one Quality Enrollment every month of 2017 and develop four or more new frontline Silver Consultants throughout the year. Even though he has qualified for Team Kaizen 2018, Royal Diamond Michael (Mike) DiMuccio continues to lead and sponsor new Consultants as he approaches 27 years with Nikken. Why? He has set himself a goal to be a part of Team Kaizen 2019.

Explaining why he was so intent on qualifying for Team Kaizen, Mike says:

“I wanted to prove to the Nikken Family, especially those following me, that even though I am at the Royal Diamond rank, often associated with ‘resting on our laurels’, that it could be done. The point was for me to remove all excuses and legitimate reasons for not getting it done. It was the consequence of making a decision. Enlist the support and direct involvement of your active upline and create a daily to-do list and calendar of events. Tell people why you are doing what you are doing with Nikken and invite them to help you do it – directly, or indirectly. Create new Silvers. No one becomes Silver just because. This achievement requires a focused effort on the part of the Consultant and their sponsor.

I have asked newly sponsored Consultants to join me in the effort to achieve a Paragon Award and Team Kaizen. The majority of volume that we have generated was from retail sales, which is a big plus in the new compensation plan. Of course, building a team is of a higher priority, but doesn’t hold back the potential for a Consultant to achieve the Silver rank mainly on his or her own steam. Contact with my running friends, ABC meetings and calls were top on the list for daily activities. Asking for ‘help’ and referrals became the means to connect to more people.

Everyone loves a deal, so extending product incentives to my Consultant’s prospects became a way to encourage immediate action, like offering a Naturest® Pillow for a Sleep System or a PiMag® Water Bottle for a PiMag® Waterfall. And now, with our new Wellness Home Packs, we have a built-in incentive!”

On his way to becoming a 2019 Team Kaizen member, Mike says: “Setting a goal and achieving it is one of the most empowering feelings in the world. I’m staying on top of my 3000 PGV monthly, mainly with the same strategy as before. I personally am also taking advantage of the new Wellness Packs to have products to loan to prospects and to promote the built-in incentives.”

In summary, here are the five main actions required with the “DiMuccio strategy” in order to join Team Kaizen:

  1. Make the decision to succeed.
  2. Ask your active upline for help and support.
  3. Create a daily to-do list and a calendar of events.
  4. Sponsor new Consultants and create new Silvers to build a team.
  5. Generate retail sales to increase volume. Maintain 3000 PGV monthly.

Next month, Mike is hosting the upcoming Humans Being More Summit together with a fellow Royal Diamond Bo Tanas in Toronto.
